Crossroads Care Surrey announce the all-new Surrey Carers Card

#

In partnership with Surrey County Council, the charity Crossroads Care Surrey will launch the all-new Surrey Carers Card following extensive research with local unpaid carers revealing the challenges they face when caring for a loved one.

In the UK, 2 in every 3 people will care for someone at some point in their life and with an estimated 130,000 carers in Surrey, the new card will give peace of mind for those caring.

The card helps carers by:

  • Giving access to support, information, respite and signposting as well as recognition by their GP, Council and community as the carer of an individual.
  • Demonstrate that someone with care needs depends on them. Carers signing up to the new card will have access to emergency care planning should they themselves have an accident or become unwell.
  • Give Carers access to exclusive personal discounts and offers* from the business community

From research conducted independently on behalf of Crossroads Care Surrey, only 2 out of 66 other carer card schemes in the UK provided combined access to emergency plans, discounts and proof of being a carer making the all-new Surrey Carers Card invaluable for Carers, but also credible for business partners.

If you are a business interested in supporting carers, by signing up with an offer or discount, please contact the team at enquiries@crossroadscaresurrey.org.uk today.

*Offers that are eligible for carers alone and will not be dependent on them accompanying the person they care for to receive the benefit.
